Iyun Harrison
Iyun Harrison
CAREER GOAL

I believe that the future of concert dance and successful programs of dance in higher

education exists in the fusion of various movement styles and aesthetic sensibilities:

A hybrid of classical, contemporary and popular dance with the incorporation of

somatic principles to enliven students' minds and bodies. My teaching and

choreographic philosophies are founded on the idea that past and present dance

vocabularies, aesthetics, and design can be synthesized to create an informed, highly

skilled and diverse dance artist. I would like to continue my work as a professional

dancer/choreographer/teacher and share my perspective in a university-based, degree-

conferring dance program.
